Event Ticket Terms

These terms apply when you buy tickets to a Vela event through www.velarestaurant.co.za. Please read them before you buy. By completing a purchase you agree to these terms, together with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and our Privacy Policy.

1. Your ticket

• A ticket is your admission to a specific Vela event on the stated date and time.
• Each booking is issued a QR code. You present the QR code at the door and it admits your party for that booking. Keep it safe; anyone presenting it may be admitted.
• Latecomers are welcome, but where an event has started and seating is no longer possible we cannot guarantee admission, and the ticket is not refundable (see the Refund Policy).

2. Buying tickets and when the sale is confirmed

• Prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT.
• Payment is processed securely by PayFast. Vela does not receive or store your card details.
• Your order is confirmed only once PayFast has confirmed the payment to us. At that point we issue your ticket(s) and send a confirmation to the email address on the order. If payment is not confirmed, no ticket is issued and no place is held.
• If a price or event detail is shown in error, we may cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid.

3. Your account

• When you buy a ticket we create an account for you so you can see your orders and tickets. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the accuracy of the information you give us.
• Please give a valid email address and phone number, as we use these to send confirmations.

4. Refunds, changes and cancellations

• Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
• If we cancel, postpone or materially change an event, we will contact ticket holders and offer a refund or a transfer as set out in that policy.

5. Right of admission and conduct

• Right of admission is reserved. We may refuse entry to, or remove, any person behaving unlawfully, dangerously or in a way that disrupts other guests or staff, without a refund.
• Guests must follow reasonable instructions from Vela staff during an event.

6. Age and alcohol

• Vela is a licensed venue. Alcohol is served and sold only to persons 18 years or older, and we may ask for valid ID.

7. Allergies and dietary requirements

• Please tell us about allergies or dietary requirements in advance (in your booking notes or by contacting us) so the kitchen can advise. While we take care, we prepare food in a kitchen that handles common allergens and cannot guarantee any dish is completely free of a given allergen.

8. Photography and filming

• Events may be photographed or filmed by Vela for our records and promotion. By attending, you agree you may appear in this material. If you’d rather not be featured, let a member of our team know at the event and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

9. Liability

• Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the CPA.
• To the extent the law allows, Vela is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for personal belongings brought to an event.

10. Events beyond our control (force majeure)

• We are not liable for failure to hold an event due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (for example extreme weather, power failure, illness, or changes in law or regulation). Where an event cannot go ahead, the Refund & Cancellation Policy applies.

11. Your personal information

• We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, and share what is needed with PayFast (to take payment) and our email provider (to send confirmations).

12. Intellectual property

• The content of this site (text, images, branding and menus) belongs to Vela or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

13. Governing law

• These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and are subject to the CPA and ECTA. Your statutory rights are not affected.

14. Changes to these terms

• We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the site at the time you buy.
